Cloudpap storage utilizes a ring to map data to the server partitions. There are separate rings for services such as account, object and container.
A ring builder is responsible for building rings, it also manages the rings, assigns partitions to storage devices and pushes the configuration information to storage nodes.
Cloudpap object storage utilizes eventual consistency model to replicate data across server clusters which ensures high availability and high scalability.
Eventual Consistency writes data synchronously to multiple locations for durability. In the situation one of the cluster part is not available, replication is delayed.
Proxy server ensures access to the most updated copy of the data.
Eventual consistency is different to the strongly consistent technology used on Cloudpap block storage which is used by databases and applications which require real time data requirements.
