Azure certification is the ultimate goal for many, but it takes a lot of work to get there.

The journey starts with an Azure Developer Associate (M70-201) exam and ends with the Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Cloud Platform and Infrastructure certification.

But that Is just one path to becoming certified in Azure.

There are many other ways you can prepare yourself for these certifications as well as excel in your current position at work or school. In this post, we’ll go over some of them!

What is Azure certification?

Azure certification is given to candidates who are just beginning to work with cloud-based solutions and services or are new to Azure.

It is an opportunity to prove knowledge of cloud concepts, Azure services, Azure workloads, security and privacy in Azure, as well as Azure pricing and support.

Think of it as a way to show you know what you are talking about when it comes to Microsoft Azure.

How much does it cost to get certified?

The cost to get certified ranges depending on the certification. For instance, MCSA Windows Server 2012 Individual costs $165 for exam and certification fees (as of April 2016).

You also have to pay a registration fee with Pearson VUE which can range from $40-$60 per attempt.

The cost may increase if you need an appointment at a testing center as well.

However, it’s important to note that there may be other expenses involved in getting certified based on your particular needs and situation such as purchasing lab equipment or paying for childcare while studying.

Either way, Azure certification will cost between $165 to $330 USD.

Why should I get certified

The benefits of Azure certification are many.

You will not only be gaining a greater understanding of the cloud, but you will also go through an intensive training program that is offered at no cost to participants.

Azure certification can help you demonstrate your expertise in Azure.

Schools that train their students on cloud computing environments will often recommend getting an Azure Certification to show current and potential employers that they are proficient with one of today’s most popular cloud technologies.

An Azure certification is a great way to stay up-to-date on all things related to software development, computer science, or other IT fields in which knowledge of this technology may be relevant.

Plus, it also proves you have high levels of competency when using these types of advanced technology tools and programs!

As well as being able to understand how different skills work together within the context of an organization’s needs.

Who offers the exam and how can I prepare for it

The Azure certification exam is offered by Microsoft and you can prepare for it by studying the study guide.

The Azure Development Associate Study Guide contains all of the information you need to pass this certification exam, including an overview of what Azure does, how developers can use it, and a sample question format.

Wrapping up

Azure certification is a valuable way for professionals who work with these types of tools to strengthen skills that might be needed on the job, as well as demonstrating their familiarity with this type of software environment.

Besides this one, Microsoft offers several certifications:

  • MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer)
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) and MCSA – which covers one area within IT – among others.
